From the Best Made Workshop: The Sink
Photograph by Finn O’Hara
We love our sink, it’s where we wash our hands, clean our brushes and mix our wood stain. As you can see it takes a beating but the end results are nice to look at, it’s become a well-worn companion in the workshop. Above the sink hang some other companions: our Marilyn Minter print of feet in expensive high heels trudging through a mud puddle, and a hand-taped first aid kit (we didn’t like the packaging of the original so we taped over it). About a year a go the sink clogged up so we used the wet vac to suck it out, and what vile filth that sprang forth! We unleashed a toxic brew that had been festering in there for years, if not decades. It took us forever to get that rancid stench out of our shop vac. Sometimes it’s best to let sleeping clogs lie. - Peter Buchanan-Smith
